Are the Rams Good Enough to Go 16-0?

Los Angeles could be the first team to have an undefeated regular season since the '07 Patriots.

Following seven weeks of regular-season NFL football, the Los Angeles Rams are the only team that is still undefeated.

As such, they are the only club that has a chance of replicating the perfect 16-0 record the 18-1 New England Patriots racked up in 2007 before ultimately falling in the Super Bowl to the Giants.

So are we seeing a historically good Rams team that has a shot at running the table?

With a +107 point differential, the Rams haven’t been quite as dominant as the ’07 Patriots thus far and they’ve already been challenged by the Seahawks, and played a competitive game with the Broncos.

And, given how hot the Rams have been – Todd Gurley has scored 14 touchdowns and has more points on the season than the Buffalo Bills all by himself – it seems like the only place they have to go is down.

LA’s defense still has to face teams led by quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, and Patrick Mahomes as well as play tough road games at Chicago and at Detroit.

“It’s OK that 16-0 isn’t a good possibility,” according to Yahoo. “An undefeated regular season isn’t the Rams’ goal anyway. Just because they’re the best team through seven weeks doesn’t mean the Rams will win a Super Bowl, but they’re the clear favorites right now. They’re positioned well to at least get the NFC’s top playoff seed. They’re good enough to make a run at that kind of record. And if nothing else, it’s going to be fun to watch them chase some history.”

Here’s the rest of their schedule. It’s a difficult one:

Week 8: vs. Packers
Week 9: at Saints
Week 10: vs. Seahawks
Week 11: vs. Chiefs (at Mexico City)
Week 12: Bye week
Week 13: at Lions
Week 14: at Bears
Week 15: vs. Eagles
Week 16: at Cardinals
Week 17: vs. 49ers
