Are Penalties Ruining Football For the Fans?

Chris Simms thinks that the penalties are affecting the watching experience.

On Monday night in Tampa Bay, there were 22 total penalties called: 13 on the Pittsburg Steelers, nine of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says that the increasing number of penalties are making it harder for fans to watch the sport.

“But as somebody who appreciates the game and understands that we are in the sport-entertainment business, it is worrisome from the fan perspective, I do worry about what its like to watch the game at home, with penalties being administered at the rate that they were,” he said, according to NBC Sports.
