After tying in their first match of the tournament, World Cup favorite Brazil was in danger of not making it out of the qualifying round as it appeared they were going to draw once again on Friday.

That was until Philippe Coutinho broke through Costa Rica’s defense in stoppage time to poke a short shot past keeper Keylor Navas and give Brazil a 1-0 lead

Moments after Coutinho’s goal, Neymar got a goal of his own to give a Brazil a 2-0 win over Costa Rica at Saint Petersburg Stadium.

Had the match ended in a stalemate, Brazil would have only had two points and may have needed to win their final game in order to advance.

Thanks to the victory, Brazil has four points heading into their last group game against Serbia next Wednesday and should probably advance from Group E into the knockout round.
