Astronaut Shane Kimbrough and Russian crewmates Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrey Borisenko safely returned to Earth Monday, landing in Kazakhstan and closing out an extended 173-day mission to the International Space Station, CBS News reports.

The Expedition 50 mission began last October from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is the world’s first and largest operational space launch facility. Astronauts still aboard the ISS include Oleg Novitskiy, European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet, and NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, who is the International Space Station’s commander.
