At the remarkable young age of 26, Vogue notes in its latest cover story, Jennifer Lawrence is a four-time Oscar nominee and Best Actress winner, the face of the Hunger Games franchise, and the star of auteur Darren Aronofsky’s chilling new horror thriller, Mother!
But the wide-ranging talent known and beloved for her candor and down-to-earth personality divulged precious few morsels about the movie, or her blooming relationship with Aronofsky; she was, however, willing to weigh in on politics, arguing that a connection desperately needs to be made between Democrats and Republicans.
“There needs to be a bridge,” Lawrence told Vogue. “We can’t continue this divide and anger. There are issues affecting us as human beings, not as liberals and not as Republicans. We have to protect the foundation of this country, and acceptance. If you’re preaching acceptance, accept immigrants, accept Muslims, accept everybody.”

“If you’re a Republican, if you’re liberal, it doesn’t matter,” Lawrence told Vogue. The goal is “getting money and corruption out of politics” and “freeing our democracy.”
