Ivana Trump divulged to CBS Sunday Morning that she and Marla Maples still have bad blood.
While touting her forthcoming book on CBS Sunday Morning, the first of President Trump’s three wives noted that she “doesn’t talk” about the woman Donald Trump famously cheated on her with.
“She’s a showgirl. Never achieve anything in her life,” Trump said, adding that she puts much of the blame on Maples for the affair.
“She was flirting. I think she was flirting and she got away with it,” Trump said. And while she doesn’t harbor any resentment for Melania, the First Lady doesn’t hold Donald’s first wife in the same high regard — particularly after Ivana made these comments in the same interview:
“I don’t really want to call him there because Melania is there, and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that,” Ivana said, laughing. “Because I’m basically first Trump wife, okay? I’m First Lady, okay?”
A spokeswoman for the First Lady issued a statement Monday, saying these comments had “no substance.”
“There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex,” the spokeswoman wrote in part. “[T]his is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”
