You see presidents leaving airplanes and helicopters, giving speeches on television, waving to crowds during parades—but you hardly ever see them sharing a casual meal.
That’s what former president Barack Obama and current Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did this past Tuesday night in Montreal, after Obama spoke at the Montreal Chamber of Commerce earlier in the day, notes Travel + Leisure.
And the photos that surfaced managed to get left-leaning social media users very excited.

The venue? The Liverpool House restaurant, which is described on its website as having a “bustling oyster counter” and “sexy Old World wines,” and is “perfect for gin-tonic fueled evenings with relatives, friends, or lovers[.]” Both men are seen in relaxed positions, with their sleeves rolled up, having an engaged discussion.
It’s unclear what exactly was on the menu, but in one picture, Trudeau is clearly enjoying some sort of cocktail.
And as the two were leaving the restaurant, a crowd that had formed outside broke into applause and cheers.
