Drones were once used only by the military for surveillance. Now, they are commonplace, and both amateur and professional photographers alike are learning how to use them, capturing stunning shots in the process.

A new book from Thames & Hudson, Dronescapes, created in collaboration with Dronestagram, the world’s leading online community of drone hobbyists and photographers, shows the eye-popping potential in the burgeoning art-form.

From a bird’s-eye view of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro to a photograph taken mere inches from a mid-flight eagle, this incredible new collection of drone photographs captures moments seen no where else on Earth.

Take a look at entirely new vantage points that sail far above where cameras have ever been able to travel before.
