A new Daily Beast report examines the noticeable disconnect in how the porn industry has reacted to recent sexual assault allegations against powerful men versus in Hollywood and the rest of the media. It points out that while multiple women have come forward to accuse prolific male porn stars Ron Jeremy and James Deen of sexual assault—including Deen’s ex-girlfriend, Stoya, who is also an adult film star—there have been no Weinstein-like consequences for them.

“I feel like its all been swept under the rug and it’s back to normal for James Deen,” Tanya Tate, an adult actress and director, told The Daily Beast. “Although he didn’t go to trial and he’s not being charged, there were numerous allegations, it’s not just one person. There’s no smoke without fire.”

One of those people was porn star Amber Rayne, who graphically described a scene she filmed with Deen that she says turned incredibly violent.

“There was so much blood I couldn’t finish the scene,” Rayne said.

Allegations against Jeremy are also widespread; multiple cam models and adult actresses say that he has groped them at conventions without their consent. In 2004, adult actress Ginger Lynn accused Jeremy of raping her in Hawaii in 1983.

That reports of this type of behavior is not taken seriously “pisses off” webcam model Ginger Banks.

“I started posting on industry-only forums, and producers and industry people were telling me to get used to it. That’s just what happens in porn,” webcam model Ginger Banks told The Daily Beast. “When people are telling me I should expect to be sexually assaulted at my job that’s something I’m not going to stand for. The normalization of it is what disgusts me.” Take a look at what Banks has to say in the SFW video above.
