Toy Company Now Selling Teddy Bears Embracing Physical Differences

April 23, 2017 5:00 am

Every kid should have a teddy bear. That’s the simple message from toy company Vermont Teddy Bear, which recently rolled out a 15″ “Limb Loss & Limb Difference” bear for children who live with physical differences like amputated arms or legs.

Interested customers are required to choose from a number of options, including “left leg above knee” and “left arm below elbow.” (Also required is the bear’s eye color.)

The company worked closely with the Amputee Coalition in designing the bear, and 20 percent of every sale goes to the nonprofit, per the company’s website.

The bear retails for $59.99.
