Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially engaged to be married, reports The Telegraph

Clarence House confirmed the news that the couple will get married in the spring of next year. Prince Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, will appear at a photocall at Kensington Palace on Monday afternoon to celebrate and record a television broadcast.

The Royal family wished the couple congratulations, with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh saying they were “delighted” for their grandson and his fiancé, and “wish them every happiness.” Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said, “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together,” according to The Telegraph.

Markle’s parents also wished their daughter and Harry “a lifetime of happiness” and said they were very happy for the couple.

“Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents,” they said, according to The Telegraph.

Harry is fifth in line to the throne. He and Markle have been dating since the summer of 2016 after they met through mutual friends in London. The Telegraph reports that the couple will live together in Harry’s current home, Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

Others began immediately chiming in their support on social media.
