Supermodel Bella Hadid Says She is ‘Proud’ of Her Muslim Roots

Wildly popular supermodel Bella Hadid, 20, has opened up about her religion and her experience as the daughter of a Palestinian refugee.

“[My dad] was always religious, and he always prayed with us,” Hadid said in PORTER’s Summer Issue, according to E! Online. “I am proud to be a Muslim.”
The daughter of model Yolanda Hadid and real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, Hadid also noted that she feels passionately about treating all people, regardless of ethnicity, with kindness and respect.

“My dad was a refugee when he first came to America, so it’s actually very close to home for my sister [Gigi] and brother [Anwar] and me,” Hadid added.
