Finished in 2007, the Grand Canyon Skywalk, with its glass bottom, gives visitors a unique perspective down into the gorge below. The walkway hangs 4,000 feet above the Colorado River at the valley floor. That’s nearly twice the height of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Costing $30 million to build, the Skywalk can support the weight of 70 Boeing 747 passenger jets. So, rest assured, you and your family can safely enjoy the view.

However, over a two-day period each spring, safety is top of mind for 15 expert technicians who hang suspended 4,000 feet in the air and wash the Skywalk’s windows. Below, watch the window-washing team working at the breathtaking height.
