Hurricane Harvey swept through Texas over the weekend and left a path a devastating destruction.  As the strongest storm to hit the U.S. in more than a decade, the storm ravaged the state as a Category 4 hurricane.

The hurricane made landfall in Texas on Friday and had dumped 18 inches of rain in some areas, first hitting northeast of Corpus Christi in Port O’Connor and Port Aransas.

On Monday, residents of Houston were forced to evacuate their homes due to catastrophic flooding. Gas futures have jumped as much as 7 percent as the storm continues to drop rain on Houston, which is home to oil, gas, pipeline and chemical plants. Emergency responders have reached out to the public to donated their boats to help in high-water rescues.
