Hurricane Irma continues to make its way through Florida as a tropical storm on Monday. It has already left a path of destruction through the Caribbean and Southern Florida.

The storm started its path on Sept.6, first hitting the northern Caribbean Islands, battering St. Martin and U.S. Virgin Islands, with wind gusts as high as 185 mph. By the end of Saturday, the storm had ripped through Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as a category 5 before it weakened to a category 4 passing over Cuba.

Irma hit Florida as a Category 4 storm slamming the Florida Keys just after 9 a.m. At least 20 people were killed across the Caribbean before the storm turned towards the Sunshine State.

As of Monday, Hurricane Irma has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm as it makes its way through Tampa.
