Listen to Grizzly Bear’s Brand-New Single, ‘Three Rings’

Song marks popular indie-rock band's first new music in nearly five years.

Indie rock darlings Grizzly Bear, one of the buzziest Brooklyn bands of the last decade, have released their first new music in nearly five years.

The track, “Three Rings,” rips a page right out of Radiohead’s book with its driving electronic/acoustic beat, blankets and washes of keyboards, and ethereal, reverb-y leads from singer Ed Droste. (The two bands do share a common thread; Radiohead has fawned over them in the past, and the Brooklyn band has supported the British rock gods on a number of tour dates.)

Grizzly Bear—which consists of Droste (co-lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist), Daniel Rossen (co-lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist), Chris Taylor (bass/vocals), and Christopher Bear (drums/vocals)—rose to fame in 2006 with its second album, Yellow House, and went mainstream with 2009 follow-up Veckatimest, which rose to No. 8 on the Billboard charts.

The band has yet to announce a release date for an as-yet-unnamed new album. It would follow up 2012’s well-received Shields, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
