Born in Muswell Hill in North London, 28-year-old Michael Kiwanuka debuted in 2012 with Home Again, an album that evoked the classic American soul of singers like Al Green and Marvin Gaye. Kiwanuka digs a little deeper on his sophomore set, Love & Hate, with a decidedly more personal bent—touching on issues such as race and his spirituality. Listen to the track “One More Night” from the forthcoming album below, and an in-studio session featuring the title track directly below it. At the bottom, find Kiwanuka’s 2012 single, “I’m Getting Ready.”
