The Legends of Rock cruise hit a tragic note Wednesday when former Boston drummer Sib Hashian died after collapsing on stage during a performance.

Attempts to revive the 67-year-old rocker with CPR proved unsuccessful, according to the gossip site TMZ, which first reported the news.

Hashian, whose daughter has a child with Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, was the original drummer on the first two Boston albums, as famous for his giant afro in a photo on the linear notes.

But the Massachusetts native provided the memorable backbeats for some of the band’s most iconic hits, including “More Than a Feeling” and “Peace of Mind.”

The cruise is continuing its journey through, with tributes from the other rockers onboard planned for Thursday, according to the TMZ report.
