Money is thicker than bad blood. The Fate of the Furious stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have put their feud behind them in the shared interest of continuing the wheels on the Fast and Furious franchise spinning, the gossip site TMZ is reporting.
That’s a far cry from last Aug. 8, when Johnson fumed on Instagram about an unnamed male co-star’s lateness and unprofessionalism. The target of his ire was identified as Diesel, the franchise’s main star and a producer on the series, in a number of media reports.
“My female co-stars are always amazing, and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story,” Johnson wrote at the time. “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”
Relations became so bad that Universal reportedly had to separate the pair during the movie’s press tour, according to the New York Post. Johnson was a no-show at the film’s CinemaCon preview last month, even though he was at the Las Vegas convention just a day earlier to promote his other films Baywatch and Jumanji.
Sources told TMZ, though, the real source of the frayed egos was a rivalry over “real estate” (i.e. screen-time) in The Fate of the Furious.
