With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 now out in theaters, moviegoers may have come across one scene that looked a bit familiar—rather Hitchcockian, actually.

As the film’s writer/director James Gunn told The New York Times, he patterned a particular fight scene, one in which Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is chased by an spacecraft taking on heavy fire, as a nod to “North by Northwest.” And it’s evident from the footage that he was paying homage to the 1959 Alfred Hitchcock classic, with its iconic crop-duster chase scene.
