Ethan Hawke is now 45 and has entered a new era of his career. Following the success of 2014’s Boyhood, the actor has been doing a balancing act between independent films and Hollywood epics. In this Rolling Stone feature, Hawke discusses his recent biopic, Born to Be Blue, about jazz legend Chet Baker; his public split from Uma Thurman in 2003; and the death of his friends River Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Read Josh Eells’ full story here.
