‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ to Be Reedited After Trump Ditches Paris Climate Deal

Filmmakers vow sequel to 2006 Oscar-winning doc will help mobilize public activism.

The forecast calls for Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power to be extremely up to date.

The follow-up to the 2006 Oscar-winning documentary on climate change will be reedited ahead of its July 28 release to include President Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

The filmmakers vow to continue efforts to mobilize the public and business community to take up the cause of lowering carbon emissions, the byproduct of pollution that is the leading cause of climate change.

“Removing the United States from the Paris Agreement is a reckless and indefensible action,” Gore said in a statement. “It undermines America’s standing in the world and threatens to damage humanity’s ability to solve the climate crisis in time. But make no mistake: if President Trump won’t lead, the American people will.”

An Inconvenient Sequel, which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in January, has Gore showing how the landmark 2015 Paris agreement came together.
