Harley-Davidson’s new Street Rod model aims to set a new—and much needed—standard for American motorcycling.
Like the Street 750, the Street Rod has a 750cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, but the Rod offers 8 to 10 percent more torque and 18 to 20 percent more horsepower than the 750, as well as hot cams, gas-flowed heads, more compression, and a higher redline of 9000 rpm.
The Street Rod’s design exudes cool, too; blacked-out forks, triple clamps, dual front discs, and a perforated rear mudguard on the tail, plus 17-inch wheels. And its distinctive, 27-degree fork rake not only looks great, it serves a vital function, allowing more agile steering and an improved lean angle over previous models.
