Zoë Kravitz posed completely nude for Rolling Stone magazine in a recreation of the iconic cover, Lisa Bonet, posed for 30 years ago.

In 1988, Bonet posed in nothing but a white shirt for Rolling Stone’s Hot Issue. Not only did Kravitz recreate these iconic photos, but she talked to the publication about how her mom’s famous photoshoot truly defines the Rolling Stone brand for her even now

And that’s because she was kind of involved with her mother’s cover, too.

“I’ve always loved that cover so much,” the 29-year-old model, singer and actress explained. “When I think of Rolling Stone, that’s always the image that pops into my head. It’s a really striking image of her. It’s beautiful. It’s less about the picture, and more about doing the thing my mom intended to do. That feels cool.”

In Bonet’s cover photo, she is wearing a white shirt, and was two months pregnant with Zoe at the time of the shoot. Kravitz joked, “Technically, this is my second cover,” according to Marie Claire. Kravitz insisted she appeared fully nude on the cover, to honor Bonet, because she thinks her mom “was a little bummed when they used the shirt picture as the cover.”
