The next frontier for Tom Ford, one of the world’s most-watched designers, is underwear. He sat down for an interview with GQ to discuss the new line and his approach to his ever-consuming work. The nude hues that characterize the line of underwear bears its ethos: Ford wants his underwear line to be surprising, and a reminder of the thrill of nudity.

Ford, surprisingly, reveals to GQ that he keeps very few outfits for himself and is constantly wearing out clothes. “I have no clothes!” Ford said. “I wear the same suits over and over and over to the point they literally wear out, because when that’s all you do all day long … the last thing you want to do when you have five or three minutes is to order new clothes for yourself.”

As for his famously tireless work ethic, Ford explained deftly, “I never actually stop.”
