Aaron Feis, a security guard and assistant football coach, was killed Wednesday in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, according to a report in the Sun Sentinel. A student told football coach Willis May that Feis pushed her out of the line of fire during the shooting. As a security guard, Feis was among the first to respond to the shooting, and was the first to affirm that the loud bursts were in fact gunshots, not fire crackers as someone on another walkie-talkie had suggested. Many students and football players have posted tributes to Feis online since the news of his death. Feis’ family was told of his death in the early hours of Thursday morning.
