Meryl Streep and Steven Spielberg sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about the current political climate and their own media consumption (for Streep, it’s The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Politico, Axios and Drudge, and she also looks at Fox to see what they report), as well as their upcoming movie, The Post. The film tells the story of how Katharine Graham gave the green light to Ben Bradlee to report on the Pentagon Papers in 1971. Spielberg said the film needed to be told this year because he saw the similarities between today and what happened then.
