Stephen Colbert had plenty to say to Starbucks after two black men were arrested in Philadelphia this week while waiting for a business meeting at one of the cafés. Time logs show that the employees called the police after just two minutes of the men entering and taking a seat, prompting the company to announce a shutdown of 8,000 of its American stories on May 29 for “racial-bias training.”

“Hello 911, I’d like to report 1:20 seconds of sitting while black,” Colbert cracked. “It’s astounding that Starbucks employees would be so racially insensitive. After all, I’m pretty sure their logo is Beyoncé.”

After slamming the employees, Colbert moved on to the company’s approach at handling the incident.

“I just wonder what this training session is going to be like for black Starbucks employees,” he said. “Okay guys, let’s all settle down and listen while this nice white lady from HR tell us what racism is,” he mocked, adding: “It’s questionable whether this is going to be enough, seeing how these stores will only close for part of the afternoon.”
