You can wave goodbye to the concierge desk and say hello to a shower that remembers your preferred temperature, according to a panel of luxury hotel experts assembled by Bloomberg. The panelists predict seven changes coming to the industry in 2018, from the mundane introduction of new booking fees in major cities to the rollout of Marriott’s “Internet of Things room,” a high-tech space that will feature the aforementioned smart shower and digital art frames in which guests can upload whatever images they want. Wellness services remain on the rise, as well as high-end hospitality-adjacent experiences like the planned 2019 launch of the Ritz-Carlton yacht.
