The Rolling Stones announced a U.S. stadium tour that will begin in Florida on April 20 and wrap in Chicago two months later.
The band — whose members are well into their 70s — listed 13 concert dates but more are expected given the length of time between some of the shows, Variety reported.
“It’s a thrill when we play stadiums in the States,” Mick Jagger said in a statement, “the energy is always amazing!”
“I’ve always loved playing the states,” Keith Richards added, “it’s a great crowd.”
The dates are an extension of the band’s “No Filter” European tour, which spanned September and October of 2017 and picked up again from May to July of this year. The strategic break is how the band is still able to play for their fans without having to endure the grueling months-long schedule they once followed.
“Between these tours I have to keep a sort of plateau of fitness, so after I talk to you I’m probably going to go into the gym,” Jagger recently told Q1043.3 radio host Jim Kerr about his tour prep. “I do a little bit of sprints and jogs, and I do dancing.”
“If Mick can do it,” Richards chimed in, “I can do it.”
