Priyanka Chopra has had a successful career on two different continents for years and has no plans of stopping now. The star of ABC’s Quantico, she has learned to balance her endeavors in Hollywood and Bollywood, leaving plenty of time for each. She plans to continue conquering both spheres, because “the world is such a small place. It takes a 16-hour flight: I can get to the other side of the world, and it’s not a big deal,” Chopra told Esquire.
“I want to be able to do features. I want to be able to do Indian movies. I want to be able to do fun, cool things, with a lot of the philanthropy that I do. And producing, I produce so much,” she said.
The third season of Quantico just launched, and it jumps three years into the future. Chopra’s character, Agent Alex Parrish, is listed as a fugitive and she’s on the run in Italy. The show started with terrorist attacks, racial profiling, rogue leaders and international relations, writes Esquire, and it continues to remain true to form, even when the show’s storyline gets uncomfortably close to reality. Oftentimes, Quantico rips headlines from newspapers, she said.
“That’s the recipe of this show,” Chopra told Esquire. “We always talk about that. We take on the relevant [topics]—this year, they’re global political problems with reference to America. And while we do it, you have really good looking people showing you your point of view.”
Chopra also has multiple films coming out in the U.S. soon. A Kid Like Jake arrives in theaters in June, while Isn’t it Romantic? is set for a Valentine’s Day 2019 release. She will also soon be seen in Bharat, which is a “quintessential Bollywood movie.” Chopra told Esquire that she hopes “globalization and global entertainment means representation in the right way, and I hope that happens in my lifetime.”
