Porn films don’t usually address the feelings or idea behind heartbreak.

But Vice writes that despite the image of what they do for a living, porn stars are just as vulnerable to being dumped and heartbroken as anyone else. While at the Venus Erotic Trade Fair in Berlin, Vice gave porn stars an opportunity to talk about the challenges they face while maintaining relationships and the last time they were truly heartbroken.

There’s Lia Lion, 20, who was seeing a “really sweet guy” who she had worked with for a while. He suddenly said he wasn’t ready for a relationship right now.

“As a porn star, I get a lot of things I want, but I can’t find any attractive guys who have the full package. I have Tinder on my phone, but I haven’t gone on any dates yet,” she told Vice. “Aside from my male friends, guys mostly write me off because of my job. A lot of people see my work as a form of prostitution, and don’t ask me anything about what I actually do. Right now, I’m pretty much alone.”

Then there’s Mark Aurel, 35, who was going through a heartache when he spoke to Vice. His ex wasn’t okay with him making porn, even though she was a porn actress and they met on the job.

“Obviously, that hurts. Lately, I’ve been going on a lot of walks, and watching a lot of films that we used to watch together, like P.S. I Love You,” he told Vice.
