One unidentified flying object was spotted in the night sky above Ireland by several different pilots within the same night last week, according to air traffic control audio logs.

Conversations between at least four airmen and Irish air traffic control officials that centered around the sightings were recorded, CNN reported. One pilot asked if military operations were underway in the area, citing an object she saw that was moving “so fast” through the sky.

No such planned activity was taking place that evening.

“It came up on our left hand side (rapidly veered) to the north, we saw a bright light and it just disappeared at a very high speed,” the pilot said, according to CNN.

Another pilot added that his crew had seen “two bright lights at 11 o’clock (which) seemed to bank over to the right and then climb away at speed.”

A third flyer described the object’s speed as “absolutely astronomical,” “like Mach 2 or something.”

But the chance that the object was an alien-driven spacecraft is slim, at best.

“In all probability, they were meteorites,” aviation journalist Gerry Byrne said. “It’s not uncommon for meteorites to come in at a low angle, a low trajectory into the Earth’s atmosphere.”
