Luke Scott, who is the son of Ridley Scott and the nephew of original Top Gun director Tony Scott, posted a slideshow of gems to Instagram. He allows us a peek at Cruise back in the cockpit, in full uniform. We also get to see Cruise seemingly operating on the jet as a fill-in mechanic.

Joseph Kosinski, who previously collaborated with Cruise on Oblivion, will direct the movie, with Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, and Glen Powell joining the cast for the sequel. Val Kilmer will return as Iceman.

Glimpses like this into Cruise’s return to one of his most iconic roles will hopefully keep arriving in the lead up to Top Gun: Maverick’s June 26, 2020 release.
