Nude Restaurant In Paris Set To Close

“O’Naturel,” the first nude restaurant in France is set to close, even though the restaurant reviews are glowing. Why? Fiscal issues, apparently.

Mike and Stephane Saada, the twin brothers behind the clothing-free establishment, say they’re closing up shop to avoid financial embarrassment, Yahoo News reports.

“It is now or never,” they urged their fans “wanting to experience a last nude dinner in Paris” before their final service on February 16.

“We are counting on you to support us,” the twins wrote on Facebook. “We thank everyone for taking part in this adventure. We will only remember the good moments and the great people we met.”

Four million people flock to France each year to vacation in the buff. To some, “O’Naturel” was a sign that naturism was becoming more popular and accepted.

France plays host to the new summer nudist zone it Paris’ biggest park, locals host naked stand-up comedy nights as well as nude museum tours. A nude restaurant seemed like the next logical step.

Unlike staff in similar restaurant in London, the Saada twins keep their clothes on when interacting with customers. “As soon as customers enter the dining room, we accompany them to their table” Stephane Saada explained to the AFP. “We reassure them that it’s not like the whole room is looking at them,” he added.

Cedric Amato, a French nudist, thinks the eatery was ahead of its time: “It may have been a little early” he told the AFP. “I ate there many times and it was very good.”
