In addition to self-help guru Werner Erhard and Cage owning the house in the ‘70s and ‘90s respectively, in 1981 Stephen Hawking gave his famous black hole presentation in the attic, which today is the bedroom below.

The only thing more impressive than the size of the kitchen is the effect achieved by the room’s gorgeous stained-glass windows.

From a young age Cage, apparently wanted an opulent mansion similar to what his famous uncle, Academy Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola, owned. So, in 1989, early on in his stardom, Cage fulfilled that dream by purchasing 1945 Franklin. Now a new owner will have the pleasure of entering their own name onto the list of storied residents.
