Former NFL cheerleader Bailey Davis claims that she was fired from the New Orleans Saints because she posted a sexy picture of herself on Instagram. But she wasn’t going to leave the field without a fight.

So on March 23, 2018, Davis filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against her former employer, the New Orleans Saints. And then went public with her story to Cosmopolitan.

Davis said the picture was taken for her portfolio to be used at future dance auditions. It is a full body shot because she wanted to show off “my physique, my athleticism.” She further told Cosmo that as for showing skin, it was not any different than the uniform she had to wear for cheerleading. But when she was fired, the human resources director went further, telling Davis that she “had a dirty face in the photo.”

Davis told Cosmo that cheerleaders are bound by strict, unfair rules. They are told “no fraternization” with players, including being in the same place as the team’s stars. “If I were eating in a restaurant and a player walks in, I had to leave,” Davis told the magazine.

She also could not follow any plays on Instagram or like their pictures. If they tried to follow her on her page, she had to block them and report to HR. She could only say “hello” and “good game” if a player talked to her. After she was fired, she learned that it was up to the women to keep that separation, not the players.
