Michael Bloomberg is planning to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, according to a story in Daily Intelligencer based off an initial report in the Times of London. Bloomberg was a Republican, then an independent during his tenure as mayor of New York City.

Rumors of Bloomberg’s entrance into the race proliferated in 2016, and according to sources, he’s more serious about it now. “Mike Bloomberg has told me he is going to run in 2020… He has the money to see it through while other candidates knock themselves out,” a source told the Times of London.

This past June Bloomberg hinted at a fundraiser that he may run in 2020. Bloomberg, as reported by Forbes, has $52 billion.
