A 21-year-old Australian man was arrested for selling over a million passwords to online services including Netflix, Spotify, and Hulu. The man supposedly made about AU $300,000, which is about $21,200 USD.
The arrest followed a joint international cybercrime investigation by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Online subscription service credentials were being stolen from Australian customers, as well as people around the globe, according to Broadband TV News. The investigation began after the FBI told the AFP about an account generator called WickedGen.com. The generator worked for about two years selling stolen account details for online subscription services.
