Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Sure Looked Like a Couple in Love at Oscars

Reprising "A Star Is Born" hit song at Academy Awards, the actor and singer seemed to reprise their on-screen chemistry.

As Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga sang their instant classic, “Shallow,” on the Oscars stage Sunday evening, the voyeuristic world inched closer to its collective TV set, as if willing the pair to kiss.

After Cooper — who directed and starred in A Star is Born, the film that birthed the song — moved from the opposite end of the piano to cuddle next to Gaga on the bench, the on-screen couple sure looked like a PDA was imminent. And that was even with Cooper’s girlfriend and mother of his child, Russian model Irina Shayk, sitting front row for the performance.

The two stars did a really good job of convincing audiences that they were artistic soulmates and that they were deeply in love, the Mercury News noted. And everyone else with an internet connection seemed to agree.

“Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga acting like they’re the only people in the room for 3 minutes straight,” one person tweeted.

“If this is not love I don’t know what is,” added another.

The moment was so intense that Cooper and Gaga received two standing ovations — one at the end of their performance and another during the commercial break after it when they emerged from backstage to return to their seats.

The speculation didn’t start Sunday night. Cooper and Gaga have endured months of rumors regarding the nature of their relationship while on the awards circuit.

Gossip about how close they became during filming and chatter about their undeniable chemistry doubled down this past week when the 32-year-old songstress called off her engagement to Christian Carino, a 49-year-old talent agent.
