Kevin Spacey’s latest film opened to a record-breaking low of just $126 in the United States. Billionaire Boys Club was the last film the actor made before sexual assault allegations, dating back more than 30 years, began to surface against the actor last fall.
The film included other big names, such as Ansel Elgort and Taron Egerton, but it still opened in just 10 U.S. cities after a muted video on demand release last month, reports The Guardian.
The Hollywood Reporter estimated that the movie had an average take of under $12.75 at each theater that it was shown. This adds up to less than the cost of two seats based on the current U.S. average ticket price of $9. In comparison, Baby Driver, which Space starred in 2017, raked in more than $20 million at the box office during opening weekend.
Spacey was fired from the Netflix series House of Cards last year after the allegations emerged. He was also taken off the cast of All the Money in the World, and his role was replaced by Christopher Plummer.
