Comedian John Oliver said on Sunday’s Last Week Tonight that multiple people in the media are actively attempting to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election.

Mueller’s probing has led to several indictments and guilty pleas, which Oliver said proves: “If this is a witch hunt, then witches exist.”

Oliver called out Rudy Giuliani and Kellyanne Conway, and Fox News’ Sean Hannity for continuing to denounce Mueller’s investigation, despite its progress. Last week, Hannity even implored possible Special Counsel witnesses to bash their cell phones with a hammer to prevent Mueller from examining any relevant messages on them. Whether the president is guilty or not, Oliver said, “the process of finding out is really important and it needs to be seen through to its conclusion.”
