Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel brought out his infant son Billy to talk about healthcare on Monday night. Billy, who was born with a serious heart defect, just underwent his second surgery last week.

“Hi, I’m Jimmy. This is Billy,” Kimmel said, introducing him to the audience. “He’s fine everybody. He may have pooped, but he’s fine.”

Kimmel used the opportunity to talk about funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program known as CHIP. The non-partisan program provides healthcare for about 9 million children whose parents don’t qualify for Medicare because they make too much. As of now, federal funding has run out for it.

“Parents of children with cancer and diabetes and heart problems are about to get letters saying their coverage could be cut off next month,” Kimmel said. “Merry Christmas, right?”
