For years, rumors have circulated that Idris Elba might be the next James Bond. Elba always shuts down those rumors, and this time is no different. Two weeks ago, those rumors picked up again that James Bond producers were thinking about picking Elba for the role of 007.

Then, Elba himself sent some cryptic tweets about playing Bond, which sent the internet into a fury of speculation.

But Good Morning Britain tracked down Elba on Wednesday and asked him if he’ll be the next beloved spy. His answer? “No.”

But you never know, we might be back to these rumors in a year or two. Esquire writes that it is likely we won’t know who is chosen until after Daniel Craig’s final film.
