The minimalist approach was created by Good Book figure, Daniel.

Hollywood star and noted Christian Chris Pratt is getting Biblical with his diet and following the first ever fad on record.

Pratt told People that he’s embarking on what’s known, apparently, as the Daniel Fast. The diet is based on the Biblical story of Daniel who denounces the rich food and wine of the royal palace and instead eats like a peasant. Ten days later Daniel emerges with the kind of body Pratt worked hard at for movies like Jurassic World.

The modern rules to the Daniel Fast are simple, albeit incredibly restrictive.

“It’s 21 days of prayer and fasting,” Pratt told People, but, specifically, you can only drink water and the only food you’re allowed to eat must originate in seed-form.

The diet first went mainstream by Susan Gregory who once said that on “a December day in 2007… God spoke to my spirit and said, ‘Write about the Daniel Fast.’” She did, and now you can buy the book on Amazon. Praise be!

The Daniel Fast should end for Pratt just around the same time that he’ll begin doing press for the next installment of The Lego Movie.
