Hollywood Icon Burt Reynolds Dies at 82

Cardiac arrest was the cause of death, according to Reynolds’ agent.

Burt Reynolds, one of the foremost legends of 1970s Hollywood, has died Thursday at the age of 82, according an NBC News report. Reynolds’ agent Todd Eisner said that “Reynolds died of cardiac arrest.”

From classic ’70s roles in Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit to his Oscar-nominated 1997 comeback in Boogie Nights, Reynolds was famous for his charm and adventurous spirit. He was a leading man during a time when Hollywood was changing dramatically.

“No comment, just heartbreaking,” Eisner said of the actor’s passing, according to NBC News.
