George Clooney once gave 14 of his closest friends a million dollars in cash each, and even paid the taxes on the gift. This stunning gift was revealed by the actor’s best friend, Rande Gerber, in a recent interview on MSNBC’s Headliners. Gerber explained that there is a group of friends who call themselves “The Boys” and Clooney invited this crew over for dinner in September of 2013. There, each guest received a black luggage bag, and Clooney gave a bit of a speech, telling the group how much they all meant to him and how grateful he was for their friendship. Clooney said he couldn’t be where he is today without them, and wanted to give them something to show his love and gratitude. So he gave them cold, hard cash (all in $20 bills). Clooney said he didn’t want his friends worrying about paying the mortgage or having enough money to send their kids to school. Gerber said at first he didn’t want to take the money, but in the end, he donated his portion all to charity. On the same day a year later, Clooney married Amal.
