Geoffrey Rush Accused of Sexual Misconduct by Netflix Actress

Yael Stone is the second person to come forward with allegations of inappropriate behavior.

One of the most acclaimed actors in show business is being accused of acting horribly off the stage.

Yael Stone, an actress famous for her role as Lorna on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, is accusing Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush of sexual misconduct, according to the New York Times.

Stone alleges that Rush danced naked in front of her in their dressing room while they starred in the stage production of “The Diary of a Madman” in Australia in 2010 and 2011. Rush also allegedly used a mirror “to watch her while she showered and sent her occasionally erotic text messages.” She was just 25 at the time, and 34 years Rush’s junior.

Rush responded to the allegations saying they “are incorrect and in some instances have been taken completely out of context,” adding that “clearly Yael has been upset on occasion by the spirited enthusiasm I generally bring to my work. I sincerely and deeply regret if I have caused her any distress. This, most certainly, has never been my intention.”

Stone is the second person to accuse Rush of misconduct and says there’s “an element of terror” because of Australia’s extremely strict defamation laws — and if she is sued by Rush and loses, she will be financially responsible for all of the damages.
