Yes, you read that headline correctly. For his 50th birthday — which is on Sept. 25 — actor Will Smith is going to bungee jump from a helicopter hovering over the Grand Canyon. And no, he won’t have a stunt double for this trick. The event has already been named The Jump Off, according to The Adventure Blog, and it will be aired live on Smith’s Youtube channel. Smith said that all proceeds from the event will go to charity and that he will keep everyone updated on details when it gets closer to the event.

Smith was challenged to do this bungee jump by another YouTube channel called Yes Theory, which is dedicated to inspiring people to get out and live a more adventurous life. The actor heard the challenge and decided to face it head on, though he said he had to wait until his filming commitments were done in case he sustains an injury that could cause a delay.
