Eddie Murphy has signed on to make his return to big-screen comedies with a reimagining of Grumpy Old Men. Though exactly what relationship the new movie will have to the 1993 version starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Ann-Margret is yet to be revealed, Murphy is onboard to star, with Tim Story of Think Like a Man and Ride Along attached as director.

The 1993 movie told the story of two elderly neighbors fighting over a woman who moves onto their street. Murphy’s co-stars have not yet been announced, but the Deadline story that originally broke the news suggested that the moviemakers are interested in Samuel L. Jackson.
